Press Release / Buckcherry's smash hit single Crazy Bitch has earned a Grammy nomination from the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences in the category of Best Hard Rock Performance. The lead single from the gold certified release, 15 (Eleven Seven Music/Atlantic Records), Crazy Bitch is currently the most played song at Rock radio along with The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dani California.
15 is the band's first studio album in four years released in the U.S. in April 2006 with a debut at #2 on the Independent Album Chart. The out-of-the-box success of 15 gained the attention of Atlantic Records who immediately brought them up in the ranks adding them to the roster.
Buckcherry lead singer and co-founder Josh Todd reacted to the news: "Who would have thought you could record an album in fifteen days, release it independently, have it go gold and get nominated for a Grammy in less than a year? When we started this project, no one believed in it except us and our management company. It's exciting and shows that if you're passionate and work hard anything can happen."
Buckcherry just announced a national co-headlining tour with 3 Days Grace kicking off in January. Details available at www.buckcherry.com

REVIEWS

SINNER ‘Mask Of Sanity’ MTM Music (2007) www.mtm-music.com

Mat Sinner and his band have been going since the mid-80’s and now he has a more hands on role with the label MTM, whereby he is signing more heavier and modern rock bands than the label’s more melodic fare. The band have had a few line-up changes as well with ex-Primal Fear drummer Klaus Sperling joining permanently and a new guitarist Christof Leim.
Musically this is solid, classic metal which occasionally rises up to some cracking tunes like ‘The Sign’ and ‘The Other Side’ but for the most part is fine to listen to but nothing really special. Sure the guitar solos are good and Matt Sinner’s vocals have that heavy metal power in them but many tines just lack that spark to really want you to play this album again and again.
If you are already a fan of the band then this will doubtless keep you happy, otherwise listen to a few songs first as it is not a ‘must have’.

DANIEL McMASTER ‘Rock Bonham and the Long Road Back’ Sun City Records (2006) www.suncityrecords.com

Who you may ask? Well Daniel McMaster was the vocalist with Bonham, a band who released two wonderful albums and featured the band’s namesake Jason Bonham (later to pop up in UFO and now Foreigner). This is a collection of demos he has recorded from 1991 onwards. Bearing in mind that these tracks need that final production polish they are very good! Think Tesla in their slower mode, in fact ‘Is She Falling?’ and ‘Walk With Me’ would have Tesla fans in raptures. But the real treat on here are four Bonham demos that have been released before. ‘Friend of Mine’ hints a real Led Zep groove, whilst ‘Great Confusion’ is just a great no frills rock track. Shame they never made that third album…
Obviously one for fans of Bonham but is m ore than just a collectors’ gem in that the solo tracks are very good and as mentioned previously would give Tesla a run for their money!
