Founded by world-renowned bassist Mick Cervino (who has on G3 2003 tour; as well as with Yngwie Malmsteen and Ritchie Blackmore), Violent Storm unleashes a sonic barrage of stunning vocals, ripping guitars, relentless bass, and pounding drums, anchored around solid songwriting you just can’t forget!
The driving rhythms and compelling melodies of these songs stay in your mind, inviting a deeper experience with each repeated listening.
Mick’s decision to create a band requiring a unique blend of musical talent and raw aggression led him to audition musicians from around the world, and the results of that search can be heard in the soaring vocals of Matt Reardon, and the monster drumming of Mike Sorrentino.
Violent Storm has created a sound that displays musical depth at the same time it packs a serious hard-rock punch.
The new album, ‘Storm Warning’ has been Executive Produced by KK Downing of Judas Priest, with his long fantastic career in the Rock industry , KK has worked closely with Mick and has contributed his inimitable guitar playing on two of the tracks on the album, in addition to his production skills.
Mick Cervino (bass, guitars, rhythm guitar, backing vocals, guitar synth):
Mick has played with some of the best musicians in the business, including legendary guitarists Ritchie Blackmore (Blackmore's Night 1997-2000 in Japan, Europe, USA, and UK), and Yngwie Malmsteen. Performing in every corner of the globe, including at Europe’s largest rock festivals on the center stage with the likes of Iron Maiden, Dream Theatre, Dio, Slayer, Hammerfall and Motley Crue to name just a few
Mick started playing guitar at age 7, and studied classical guitar and music theory at the Conservatorio Juan Jose Castro in Buenos Aires, Argentina, his birthplace. He took up the bass at age 14 (after discovering Ritchie Blackmore) and became very interested in baroque and classical music, and particularly the combination of classical with hard rock. He has been playing professionally since age 16, touring Argentina extensively backing up famous local artists.
In addition to a critically acclaimed solo album titled Ostinato, Mick has recorded with such artists as Victor Heredia (Phillips), Banana (EMI), and Candela (RCA). With U.K. jazz-rock band One Hand Clapping, he recorded the No. 4 indie single “The Rich Get Rich.”
Mike Sorrentino (drums): Mike has recorded and toured with the legendary Ritchie Blackmore and with the gold-record-selling classic rock band Zebra. He has performed for a number of years with New York rock band Kid Gloves (appearing with such major bands as Bad Company, E.L.O., Zebra, and Keanu Reeves).
Matt Reardon (Lead Vocals): Hailing from the USA, his roots are in metal, grunge and Rock and Roll of today. Matt's deep and unadulterated raw powerful baritone vocals can be heard on over 60 soundtracks to date worldwide. He has also toured in Europe with his former band as guests for acts such as Queensryche, Saxon, In Extremo and Steven Adler of Guns and Roses
In addition to KK Downing, who played guitar on the tracks “War No More”, and “Deceiver”, other guitar duties are taken up by Yngwie Malmsteen, who contributed to the tracks “Fire In The Unknown” and “Pain Is For Me”. The album was also mixed by world renowned producer Roy Z.

Frontiers Records is honoured to welcome in its roster of artists the band Cosmo, a band formed by current Boston members Anthony & Fran Cosmo (also ex-Orion The Hunter) together with Mick Brooks (guitar), Pat Orlowski (drums) and Bill Carman (bass).
Formed back in the mid 80s, Cosmo have finally the chance to release their debut album to be entitled Alien on Frontiers Records on December 8.
Following the Boston tour of 2004, the prolific Anthony Cosmo had amassed an extensive library of great songs. With the resurgence of rock-n-roll that was occurring, Fran and Antonio couldn't pass up the opportunity to attempt the biggest evolutionary leap yet. Cosmo, once sidelined by a major power in music, was now in the forefront with full force!
Alien was recorded during the summer 2006 and includes eleven original tracks dealing with the issues of today's society. Main composer and guitarist Anthony Cosmo says: "Hurt, despair, love, hate, happiness, the loss of someone you really loved. Also the social anxieties that we all face one time or another in our life. There are many ways people express their feelings. My feelings, thoughts and perceptions of the world are channelled through music. The words and music reflect personal experiences I have had throughout my life as an artist as well as a person. We are all living and breathing air expression is what God gave us as a gift. "Alien" is what we are when we can't express it. The band is now ready to show the world the new face of rock-n-roll!"
Alien will be released with the following track listing: Communication; Don't Tell Me Your Lies; No Surprise; Gravity; Redemption; Helicopter; Alien; When I Close My Eyes; Woman; Can't Run Away; Creep; Don t Tell Me Your Lies (acoustic)(Exclusive Bonus Track for Europe)
Release date is set for December 8 on Frontiers Records in Europe, while release in Japan will happen on King Records.

Apple Corps Ltd/Capitol Records proudly announces the release of LOVE, the new CD from The Beatles, due November 2006. After being asked by the remaining Beatles, Ringo and Paul along with Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison, to make experimental mixes from the original master tapes for a collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, Sir George Martin, The Beatles legendary producer, and his son Giles Martin have been working with the entire archive of Beatles recordings to create LOVE. The result is an unprecedented approach to the music. Using the master tapes at EMI's Abbey Road Studios, Sir George and Giles have created a unique soundscape. The release of this album, which is also featured in the Cirque Du Soleil/Beatles collaborative production of the same name at the Mirage in Las Vegas, has been much anticipated.
"This music was designed for the LOVE show in Las Vegas but in doing so we've created a new Beatles album" said Sir George. "The Beatles always looked for other ways of expressing themselves and this is another step forward for them."

JOURNEY have added extra dates in London and Manchester for the UK tour next March. Still no confirmation though on who will be singing – Jeff Scott Soto or Steve Augeri.

RUFFIAN ‘Desert of Tears’ Metal heaven (2006)

US metal band formed back in the mid-80’s before calling it a day in 1989 and then coming back together for reunion shows in 2004. They have as typical metal sound that is not bad its just lacks that killer touch or riff to lift it out of the ordinary. ‘Running Blind’ and ‘I Will Fly’ lift the standard briefly bringing to mind Lionsheart, Onlsaught and 1980’s Iron Maiden. Not a bad album but there are so many better releases out there and unless you were a fan first time around there is little to entice in new listeners.

KOOPA ‘The Three In A Bed With Bobby George EP’ (CDS 2006)

Three piece band form the UK who have roped in former darts star turned commentator Bobby George (he of blingy tops and lots of jewellery) for the CD cover and video. Musically they are the UK’s answer to Blink 182 and Bowling For Soup. Very catchy tunes with a UK slant on the lyrics and the band take a sideways pop at similar bands in ‘Pop Rock Factory’.
Koopa will never win awards for their lyrical depth but they know how to craft catchy tunes and make the most of airplay. One for all you pop punk fans out there…

STACKRIDGE ‘Purple Spaceships Over Yatton – Best Of’ Angel Air (2006)

Formed back in 1969 Stackridge covered many musical genres and have become something of a cult band amongst music fans, not unlike say the Incredible String Band. They really do cover all musical bases from the sublime folk tinged instrumental ‘Lummy Days’ through to harmony soft rock of ‘Friendliness’ – very CSNY. Then you have ‘Do The Stanley’ which sounds like a Monty Python musical number! ‘Consiton Water’ with its sax verges into jazz rock territory. The title track was re-recorded especially for this compilation making it an enticement for fans of the band getting this release.
One for collectors of quirky English rock/folk bands of the 70’s and the good news for dans is that Angel Air will be releasing their back catalogue.
