Former MARILYN MANSON and current ROB ZOMBIE guitarist John 5 is working on his third solo album for Shrapnel Records. Entitled "The Devil Knows My Name", the CD will feature guest appearances by Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, OZZY OSBOURNE), Joe Satriani, Tommy Clufetos (ROB ZOMBIE, ex-ALICE COOPER), Piggy D. (ROB ZOMBIE), and Matt Bissonette (DAVID LEE ROTH), among others. An early 2007 release is expected.

DEE SNIDER has hinted in recent interviews that TWISTED SISTER will spilt-up very soon. The band release their Christmas album later this month.

Just in time for Halloween, modern melodic rockers MADISON PAIGE will be returning to their hometown of Los Angeles, CA for an unplugged concert experience dubbed “Spellbound” on October 26, 2006. The show, which will have what the band describes as a “mystical” theme, will take place at The Mint (6010 W. Pico Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90035) and will mark the unveiling of new material slated to be included on the band’s 2007 sophomore release. As an added treat, a Halloween goodie bag containing a free CD of new demos will be given to the first 25 people through the door so that the hardcore fans can, according to drummer Richie Rivera, “take home a taste of what 2007 has in store.” Arista recording artist FREEMAN will open the show.
MADISON PAIGE, featuring Paul Caroul (vocals), Richie Rivera (drums), Eric David (bass) and Italian native Danny Valentine (guitar), are currently working on the follow-up to the band’s independently released 2004 debut album Famous Last Words, which was financed entirely by advance orders from their fan base and received worldwide airplay in France, Brazil, Japan, Scandinavia, Germany, Belgium, the U.K. and the United States, including on L.A. radio giant 95.5 KLOS. The young band, which has been described as "Bon Jovi meets Velvet Revolver," recently completed a successful tour of the Midwest and will spend the fall recording demos for a new album early next year.

Tower Records will finally bow out as it has been entered into liquidation after no buyer was found. The chain closed their UK stores a couple of years ago.

Frontiers Records have announced the release in Europe of Richie Kotzen’s new studio album entitled “Into The Black” on December the 8th, 2006.
Richie Kotzen is one of the most talented guitar players and singer of the whole Rock Music business having played in the past with multi-million selling bands such as MR. BIG and POISON and with a successful solo career that brought him to share stages with such legends as ROLLING STONES back in 2005.
Previously made available only through the internet sales, “Into The Black” is Kotzen’s 14th record, consisting of ten original tracks entirely written, produced and performed by the American artist in his L.A. studio, during 2006.
All of “Into the Black”s songs are mid tempo based with a moody feel and harsh lyrics, showing the different ways of expressions from a mature artist that is able to play Hard, Rock and Blues with the same strength and credibility.

Track listing of “Into The Black” features:
You Can't Save Me; Misunderstood; Fear; The Shadow; Doin' What The Devil Says To Do; Till You Put Me Down; Sacred Ground; Your Lies; Living In Bliss; My Angel

REVIEWS

MOISTBOYZ ‘That’s What Rock And Roll Can Do’ (CDS 2006) www.moistboyz.com

‘Loud, punchy no frills rock ‘n’ roll’ according to Glide magazine, derivative heard it all before according to these ears! It’s got a crunchy riff and it’s not bad but bands like the Stooges did it so much better. As for the other track ‘Roy’ don’t play that one near your mother for the lyrics alone!

MEEKY ROSIE ‘Nobody Gets Away’ Wandering Star Records (CDS 2006) www.meekyrosie.com

Three tracks from the band’s debut album due early next year. Meeky Rosie have the bleak lyrical outlook of Radiohead and sound at times not unlike that band although Muse is another reference point. ‘Nobody gets Away’ is the stand out track and even hints at Pink Floyd in the guitars. They obviously have fellow musical backers as these tracks were recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World studios.
A band to watch out for next year methinks.

SPEAKING TO STONES Lion Music (2006) www.lionmusic.com

US based band who formed in 2004 and they produced a very listenable and accomplished debut. Although aimed at the progressive market and vocally Richard Fink IV is not a million miles away in sound to Geoff Tate, songs like ‘Rescue Me’ could easily appeal to the emo crowd, this tune is similar to Dashboard Confessional on the latter’s new album. Mind you a complete about face with the bombastic drums and time changes on ‘Down’ which is a prog fans delight. ‘Nothing’ which closes the album, again is a song you could see appealing to a younger audience if given the exposure. Fans of Queensryche, Rush and Dashboard Confessional will surely enjoy this album.
An album to keep coming back to and strangely for a band with progressive leanings they sound better on their shorter numbers, than the nine and ten minute epics.
