Escape Music are delighted to announce the signing of Daydreamer a melodic Rock band from Switzerland. These five talented guys have found a perfect mix of classical riffs and melodies. REVIEWS

STEVE THORNE ‘Part Two: Emotional Creatures’ (2007) GEP/SPV
www.steve-thorne.co.uk

Follow-up to his excellent 2005 album and again it sees an impressive line-up of guest musicians including Tony Leven (Peter Gabriela/King Crimson), Nick D’Virgilio (Spock’s Beard), Asia’s Geoff Downes, Marillion’s Pete Trewas, Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree), John Mitchell (It Bites/Arena/Kino), Martin Orford (IQ) and Gary Chandler (Jadis) amongst others. I am happy to report Steve Thorne has done it again producing a superbly crafted album, full of thought provoking lyrics (he pulls no punches when targeting drugs, war and George Bush) and some stunning music. If I had to compare his work to anyone it would be Peter Gabriel or Fish, not in vocals but the attention to detail in the music and production.
Hard to pick highlights as it is all good but ‘Wayward’ and ‘All The Wiseman’ (includes great guitar work form John Mitchell) stand out, both of which show Thorne’s lyrical and musical prowess. ‘The White Dove Song’ will appeal to Asia fans with its layered keys (courtesy of Geoff Downes) and classic Asia sound.
A very accessible album – don’t be put off if you normally avoid progressive rock, as it really an album worthy of hearing and I can’t wait for his next release.

Broken English “The Rough With The Smooth” Angel Air (Cat No LC10415)

This album reminds me at times of both Tom Petty and The J Geils Band, but mostly of late 70’s/80’s Rolling Stones- unsurprisingly singer Steve Elson went on to form the highly successful Counterfeit Stones.
This CD sees the original, unreleased, 1987 album packaged with bonus tracks and b-sides. Amongst the various musicians involved are Oasis drummer (and son of Ringo Starr) Zak Starkey, and Paul Young guitarist Jamie Moses.
The highlights here include the very Stones like “Show A Little Mercy” and “Fire Me Up”, the 80’s balladry of “Don’t Change”, the UK top 20 single “Comin’ On Strong” and “Ball n’ Chain”- a song that sums up life as an office worker.
It’s a shame this album hasn’t seen the light of day until now, but it’s release is a good reminder of a band that should have seen a lot more success than they did- oh, and a reminder of those Ghostbusters style outfits!!!!

Big C**k “Big C**k” and “Year Of The C**k” Driver Wild Music.

From the opening notes on both albums Big C**k remind you of any number of 80’s rock bands- Skid Row and early Motley Crue are just two that come to mind. With crunching guitars and big choruses the only thing that lets these two CDs down is the lyrical obsession with- er, Cock.
On “Big C**k” the highlights include “F****d Up” (with the classic line “I’m The Ayatollah of Rock N Rollah”!!), “Real Man” and a brilliant cover of the Tom Jones hit “She’s A Lady”.
With “Year Of The Cock” the best bits are “I Want It All”, “Mean Street Machine”, the stripper inspired “Take It Off” and “Dynamite”.
Both albums are good rock albums and should appeal to fans of 80’s rock.
